About IPD

Using specialized inks and coatings, as well as chemicals and electronics, Innovative Product Development (IPD) provides advanced technological solutions across a variety of industries including government and law enforcement.

IPD is a wholly owned subsidiary of Uveritech, Inc., the leader in loss prevention through counterfeit detection. Established in 2004, IPD was formed to provide new and innovative products for the parent company, initially focusing on corporate loss prevention and evolving into brand security technology. Since its inception, IPD has expanded its areas of expertise and developed products and technologies for third-party clients, thus forming valuable new vendor partnerships.

Today, IPD has the broad-based capability to undertake research and development work in many specialized areas, including the following examples.

  • The Fraud Fighter Model UV 16, the first compact dual light counterfeit detector, is now the industry standard used by the largest banks, retail operations, law enforcement agencies, government agencies and businesses.
  • The CHIPS (Clean Hands Infection Preventon System), a comprehensive hand washing compliance monitoring system for use in hospitals, restaurants, schools and other environments, is a major advance in the war against the spread of infection and loss of life.The purple ink that Iraq used during its 2005 elections to fight voter fraud -- a colorless reagent that reacts with the skin with a purple colorant that masks the reagent from imitators.
  • The Transitions ultra violet based demonstration unit is used in thousands of locations around the world to show potential clients that the lenses in eyeglasses are working efficiently.
  • A specialty ink for Iomai, developed by IPD in a multi-million-dollar transformative project, uses transdermal “patches” rather than needles for the transfer of medications into the body.
  • Most recently, the IPD team has developed a line of “smart” labels which utilize FDA approved chemistries for food safety. Addressing food safety and quality in every step, these intelligent labels with proactive indicating inks that monitor time, temperature and humidity present a significant advance to the technologies and systems currently available.
